Public Bill to Strengthen Drug-Impaired Driving Laws - Bill S-230

Senator Claude Carignan has proposed a bill that would allow police in Canada to use roadside saliva tests to detect the presence of illegal drugs. This equipment is already in use in other countries to deter people from drug-impaired driving.

"This Bill will help protect Canadians and their families. It will deter the act of drug-impaired driving and make it more efficient for law enforcement to investigate and prosecute such cases." - Senator Claude Carignan, Leader of the Official Opposition in the Senate
